First volume of a two-part survey of the Aufklarungsflieger or reconnaissance units of the Luftwaffe and the wide variety of aircraft they operated. Included here are their origins in the clandestine survey and photographic work over Poland and the UK in the late 1930s through to their first use during the Spanish Civil War. Also in this book is an overview of the related Wekusta or weather reconnaissance units.
