The south of England was dominated by two railways, the Great Western and the Southern, and in this DVD we examine the way these railways affected the lives of the people who used them and continue to do so today. Archive film from the 1930s and through to the 1990s show the changes that have come about with the abandonment of steam to the modern electric and diesel traction.
